Default What is the acceptable policy on corpse ranking?

Either I have not been pvp'ing enough to notice, or it has gotten worse, but I have seen a lot of people doing what is called a 'corpse rank' on a dead target after a victory over them in ab's, ta, ra and in ha. I have heard rumours of the outcome of this activity and I would like to hear other peoples opinions on this practice.

Basically, it's just poor sportsmanship. It got to the point of being so obnoxious that people started rumors that reporting someone for doing it would result in fame being deducted. Gaile already dismissed that rumor as false. Some people are just jerks

Once you have hit Rank3 your can do the /rank emote when your team has won and someone displays there /rank emote over someones body this is called corpse ranking and is extremely disrespectable

then you get the uber PvPr playing pve, who does that over a boss....

I think its a childish way of showing off. "look at me I have a dear and you are dead"
It is completely harmless, has no actual negative effect on your game, but it is stupid and annoying.
To all those doing it, no one cares. not even a little bit. I dont like your deer, or even tiger. If you have a phoenix, THEN come back and corpse rank me. cuse i wana see it

Corpse ranking is attention whoring. If the winning team thinks they are superior, why they would care about what losers think? Virtual ego are for those who lack it in real life. Only few can connect the character name to real person so it is just some kind of personal gain to fortify self-confidence. Only people of same type would really think the way the corpse rankers wanted them to think.

Very well said, Zakarr.

I had heard the same rumours, people losing fame points for disrespectful ranking in this manner, and simply wondered if they were true.

It was a response to trash-talking. iQ had been trash talked by just about every guild around, so they were just getting some of their own back...

It was before that game.
And there was nothing wrong with the way they won.
